A Guide on How to Fly to Mustique for Cotton House Guests.
It's easy to fly to Mustique
(MQS) from North America and Europe via Barbados, St. Vincent,
Grenada, Martinique, St. Lucia, Puerto Rico or Trinidad. Perhaps the easiest
route to the Cotton House from Europe is via London with direct (daily flights)
into Barbados (BGI) on British Airways or Virgin Atlantic.
The international flights tend to arrive in Barbados during mid-afternoon. It
is important to check times to allow sufficient time for the connection by air. Mustique’s
runway has no lights and flights have to leave Barbados latest 16h30 in order
to arrive on the island prior to sunset, after which time the airport closes.
The Cotton House’s home, Mustique, is a private island owned by the Mustique
Company and its licensees and managed by the Company. The Company also owns its
own Twin Otter aircraft*, operated by Grenadine Airways on our behalf, allowing
you to reach us in comfort by air. Mustique is a short flight from the rest
of the Grenadines, making it easy to get to the island.

JOURNEY FROM BARBADOS TO MUSTIQUE
On arrival into Barbados, passengers in transit should proceed to the doors marked ‘Connecting Flights’ where you will be met by a Cotton House / Mustique Company representative and escorted to the Grenadine Airways counter to check-in for the onward flight to Mustique. Luggage is collected by the Grenadine Airways handlers and loaded on to the relevant aircraft. Please ensure that your luggage is well labeled. Tying a very bright easily identifiable ribbon makes it easier for the luggage handlers to identify your baggage.
Please note: Should the international flight arrive into Barbados a little late and it does not allow sufficient time for luggage to be collected, passengers are occasionally flown to Mustique without their luggage which will be stored in a secure area overnight. The following day, the luggage will be flown to the island on the first available flight. We recommend therefore that you take a small carry-on bag with sundry items and medications with you. We also suggest to cross pack your checked luggage if one of your bags should be temporarily misplaced during your journey.
RETURN JOURNEY FROM MUSTIQUE TO BARBADOS
Check-in time at Mustique Airport is 30 minutes prior to departure. Please allow sufficient time for your flight booking to coincide with the required check-in time by the international airlines. On arrival in Barbados, we recommend you carry some US or Barbados Dollars for the luggage handlers (at the airport) to assist you as it is a long walk from the baggage collection area through to the international check-in counters and there are no luggage trolleys in Barbados. The normal charge is US$1 per piece of luggage. (This includes hand luggage).
